The ‘next’ President of the United States of America: an Aussies perspective

Who will be the next American President and for whom would we vote, are questions Australians often asked; increasingly so lately. Observing from ‘here’ in Australia, whats going on “over there” in America, has always been of interest.

What’s currently going on ‘over there’ is an ever unfolding catastrophe!

This writer has argued elsewhere that Australia supports America sustaining a world leadership role, on issues of global significance commensurate with its superpower status. Australia correctly expects America to lead and provide inspiration on how to solve global problems e.g. addressing climate change, an issue so critical to the survival of humanity and the planet. Yeh, good luck with that! We’re talking about Trump!

If we accept that ‘humanity’ has caused this soon to materialise catastrophic destruction of the worlds environment, we should already be ‘half way’ to solving this ever urgent problem. Right?

Well, in the case of the current American President, Donald J Trump, he don’t believe this scenario because he don’t believe the science! We know this because he has proudly told us so. But then gain, can we ‘really’ believe what this uncontrollable distorter of truth and reality actually says? “I didn’t say that; I was misquoted; its all the fault of the enemy of the people, the terrible media.” Heard this before? Confusingly, didn’t this world leader…
