You will know John Wesley Dean III (born October 14, 1938) as an American former attorney, who served as White House Legal Counsel, to then US President Richard Milhouse Nixon. (July 1970 – April 1973).
Dean is also known for his initial role, in the cover-up of what become known as the Watergate scandal, and his subsequent testimony to Congress, as a prosecution witness.
He entered a guilty plea, to a single felony in exchange for becoming a key witness, for the prosecution of criminals, who broke into Democratic Headquarters located in the Watergate Building, in Washington DC.
Since leaving active politics, John Dean, has been vociferous in his efforts to draw attention to the need for good public administration, in government.
John Deans thinkings, have been the subject of his many writings, journal articles, media commentary and books, and articles in Medium.
Alan Greenspan, an American Economist, served four Presidents, as US Federal Reserve Chairman (August 1987-January 2006).
Greenspan has stated that two of the most intelligent people he ever met, were Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton.
It is little wonder that John Dean, may have been in ore of the man he would serve as US President, when he first started work for Nixon’s White House.
